It is designed to read data without any electrical connection, ensuring that the insulation of the CAN wires remains intact.
Non-Intrusive Operation
Unlike standard gateways that may query the vehicle’s network, this device operates strictly in a passive “listen” mode. It receives various parameters of vehicle operation from the CANbus, including oil pressure, temperature, and engine metrics, but does not change original J1939 messages or send any signals back to the CANbus. This one-way communication architecture guarantees that the vehicle’s control units remain unaffected by the telematics equipment.
