Description
The DMU318-400.W3/4CK-M12 is the “short-range specialist” of the right-angle series. The “W” designation signifies that the transducer exit is directed at a 90° angle from the longitudinal axis of the PBT housing. This unique geometry allows the sensor to be “tucked” into narrow machine frames or low-profile conveyor side-walls where a straight sensor would physically collide with the target or require an awkward mounting bracket.
As a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor, it is immune to the optical properties of the target, reliably detecting clear glass, liquid levels, or highly reflective metal parts that often “blind” laser sensors. The “4CK” configuration is highly versatile for automation; it provides a stable 4–20 mA current loop for continuous distance tracking and a PNP digital output for threshold alerts, both of which can be calibrated using the onboard teach button.
