Description

The DMU318-1600.W3/4VK-M12 is designed for “side-look” applications. The “W” designation signifies that the ultrasonic transducer is mounted at a right angle to the sensor’s longitudinal axis. This allows the M18 body to be mounted flush against a wall or parallel to a conveyor, while the sound waves travel perpendicularly toward the target.

As a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor, it is immune to the optical “traps” that affect laser sensors, such as transparent glass, liquid surfaces, or high-gloss metal. The “4VK” configuration is particularly versatile for modern automation; it provides a high-resolution 0–10 V analog signal for real-time distance tracking, while the integrated IO-Link 1.1 protocol allows for digital data streaming and remote parameterization.
