Description
The DMU318-1600.3/2VK-M12 utilizes Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology, emitting a high-frequency acoustic pulse and measuring the precise micro-interval required for the echo to bounce off a target and return. Because it relies on sound rather than light, it is a superior choice for detecting “difficult” targets such as clear glass, liquid levels, dark plastics, or metallic foils.
The “2VK” configuration is designed for modern automation; it provides a high-resolution 0–10 V analog signal for real-time distance tracking, while the integrated IO-Link 1.1 protocol allows for “Smart Sensor” capabilities. This includes the streaming of real-time digital distance values and remote teaching of switching windows via a PLC, which is ideal for machines with frequent product changeovers.
