Leuze Sensor DMU218-1500/LV-M12 Ultrasonic distance sensor

An M18-threaded ultrasonic sensor with a 1500 mm (1.5-meter) sensing range and a standard M12 connector. It provides a continuous 0–10 V analog voltage output, making it ideal for real-time distance tracking and position feedback.

Description

The DMU218 series utilizes Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology, emitting ultrasonic pulses that bounce off targets regardless of their color, transparency, or surface texture. The LV designation signifies a Linear Voltage output. As the target moves within the 1.5-meter window, the sensor scales the distance into a proportional 0–10 V signal, providing a superior alternative to laser sensors when detecting clear glass, liquids, or dark plastics.

Features

  • Versatile M18 Housing: The industry-standard M18 diameter allows for easy mounting using common brackets and existing machine holes.
  • 1.5-Meter Range: Provides enough reach for medium-sized tanks, conveyor widths, and large mechanical arm movements.
  • Analog Precision: Delivers a 0–10 V DC signal that scales linearly with distance, offering high-resolution feedback (approx. 0.2 mm).
  • Material Independent: Reliably detects “difficult” targets like water, clear plastic films, and highly reflective metal components.
  • Temperature Compensation: Automatically adjusts for changes in the speed of sound due to air temperature fluctuations, ensuring consistent accuracy.
