Description
The Kofloc FM01 operates on the principle of the Karman Vortex street. When liquid flows past a columnar “bluff body” inside the meter, regular vortices are generated. The frequency of these vortices is directly proportional to the flow velocity. A specialized piezoelectric sensor detects these vibrations and converts them into a precise flow signal.
Because the FM01 has no moving parts, it is virtually maintenance-free and suffers from very low pressure loss. The use of PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) resin for the wetted parts makes the sensor acid and alkali-resistant, allowing it to be used for pure water, chemicals, and industrial wastewater. It is a popular choice for semiconductor manufacturing and LCD production lines where cleanliness and durability are critical.
