Description
The Wenglor SM982 Through Beam Sensor operates as a dedicated emitter within a through-beam system, delivering a concentrated red light beam with a narrow 4° opening angle. This precision ensures that the sensor can maintain a stable signal even over long distances, reaching up to 10 meters. Its primary strength lies in its functional reliability; the large working range allows the device to operate effectively even in highly contaminated industrial environments where dust, steam, or debris might interfere with lesser sensors.
Housed in a durable PBT plastic casing with full encapsulation, the SM982 is built to withstand the rigors of the factory floor. With an IP67 degree of protection and a wide operating temperature range from -10 °C to 60 °C, it offers consistent performance across various climates and mechanical conditions. The integration of reverse polarity protection and a Class III protection rating further guarantees electrical safety and longevity, boasting a service life of approximately 100,000 hours.
