Wenglor P1KE010 Through Beam Sensor

The through-beam sensor works with a fine laser beam as well as a transmitter and a receiver. The collimated laser beam of laser class 1 detects objects, for instance, when conducting installation, feed or presence controls, starting at a size of just 0,6 millimeters. The transmitter can be deactivated using test input in order to test the functionality of the through-beam sensor. The IO-Link interface can be used to configure the sensor (PNP/NPN, NC/NO, switching distance), as well as for reading out switching statuses and signal values.

Applications

Counting of Cannulae for Syringes with Through-Beam Sensor

Before packaging cannulae for syringes in the pharmaceutical industry, it must be ensured that each packaging unit contains the correct number of objects. For this purpose, a through-beam sensor is installed on the cannulae feed rail, which, thanks to a collimated laser light beam, detects and counts parts of less than one millimeter in height and width. The light barrier detects the objects regardless of their shape, color or surface – even at high speeds. The small 1K format allows installation in tight feed or conveying systems. After counting, the cannulae are placed in the trays.

Through-Beam Sensors

Through-beam sensors detect and count small parts, detect the edges of objects and monitor passages in systems. The emitter and receiver are housed in separate housings according to the through-beam mode. The sensor switches as soon as an object interrupts the laser light, red light or infrared light.
