Description
The Wenglor EM98PA2 Through Beam Sensor serves as the dedicated light source in a high-precision through-beam sensing pair. By projecting a focused red light beam to its corresponding receiver, it facilitates consistent presence and position monitoring over distances as far as 60 meters. This model is engineered with a high switching reserve, which allows the light beam to effectively penetrate airborne contaminants such as dust, steam, or fog that typically hinder the performance of standard optical sensors.
In modern automated facilities, maintaining system integrity is critical. The EM98PA2 addresses this with a built-in test input feature, allowing the emitter to be deactivated via a control signal to confirm the receiver’s response. This proactive diagnostic tool minimizes the risk of undetected system failures. Constructed with a durable ABS/PC plastic housing, the sensor is resistant to moisture and mechanical stress, operating reliably within a broad temperature range of -25 °C to 60 °C. Its narrow 3-degree opening angle ensures that the energy is concentrated for maximum reach and precision.
