Maxell ER Series Lithium Thionyl Chloride Battery – End-of-Life

Maxell ER Series Lithium Thionyl Chloride Battery is a range of primary cylindrical cells previously offered for industrial applications. Known for their distinct construction and energy characteristics, these batteries have been officially designated as an End-of-Life product.

Description

Maxell ER Series comprises Lithium Thionyl Chloride (Li-SOCl2) batteries, a chemistry often chosen for its high voltage and energy density in industrial settings. The series included various cylindrical models, such as the ER6, ER17/50, and ER3 types, designed to meet diverse power requirements.

End-of-Life Product Notice Management has decided to discontinue the sales of Lithium Thionyl Chloride Batteries (ER) due to future market trends. This strategic shift means that the ER series is no longer part of the active sales catalog.

However, recognizing the long operational lifecycles of industrial equipment, Maxell ensures continued support to customers who have already purchased the product. This legacy support is intended to assist engineering and procurement teams in managing the lifecycle of their existing assets.
