Description
The DMU318-400.W3/4VK-M12 is the “short-range specialist” of the right-angle family. The “W” designation signifies that the transducer exit is directed at a 90° angle from the longitudinal axis of the PBT housing. This unique geometry allows the sensor to be “tucked” into narrow machine frames or low-profile conveyor side-walls where a straight sensor would physically collide with the target or require an awkward mounting bracket.
As a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor, it is immune to the optical “traps” that affect laser sensors, such as transparent glass, liquid surfaces, or high-gloss metal parts. The “4VK” configuration is particularly versatile for modern automation; it provides a high-resolution 0–10 V analog signal for real-time distance tracking, while the integrated IO-Link 1.1 protocol allows for digital data streaming and remote parameterization.
