Description
The DMU318-400.3/2CK-M12 uses Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology, emitting a high-frequency ultrasonic pulse and calculating the exact time it takes for the sound to bounce off a target and return. Because it operates using sound waves, it is immune to the optical “traps” that affect laser sensors, such as clear plastic, glass, or high-gloss metal parts.
The “2CK” configuration is optimized for modern automation. It features a universal Push-Pull output that can be wired as either PNP or NPN, simplifying electrical integration. Furthermore, the integrated IO-Link 1.1 protocol allows the sensor to stream real-time digital distance values (in mm) directly to a PLC and enables remote “teaching” of switching points, which is invaluable for machines that process varying product sizes.
