Leuze Sensor DMU230-3000/LV-M12 Ultrasonic distance sensor

A high-power M30-threaded ultrasonic sensor with a 3000 mm (3-meter) sensing range and a standard M12 connector. It provides a continuous 0–10 V analog voltage output, allowing a PLC or controller to track the exact position of a target in real-time.

Description

The DMU230 series utilizes Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology, emitting ultrasonic pulses and measuring the time it takes for the echo to return. Because it relies on sound rather than light, the DMU230-3000/LV is immune to target color, transparency, or high-gloss finishes—making it a superior choice over laser sensors for sensing liquids, clear plastics, or multi-colored surfaces.

Features

  • Extended Reach: A 3-meter sensing range allows the sensor to be mounted safely away from moving machinery or hazardous zones.
  • Analog Precision: Provides a 0–10 V DC signal that scales linearly with the measured distance, offering high-resolution feedback.
  • M30 Large Diameter Housing: The larger transducer face produces a stronger acoustic pulse, which better penetrates dusty, humid, or turbulent air than smaller M12 or M18 models.
  • Internal Temperature Compensation: Automatically corrects for variations in the speed of sound caused by air temperature changes, ensuring consistent accuracy.
  • IP67 Protection: Fully sealed against dust and water ingress, suitable for outdoor use or industrial washdown areas.
