Description
The Kofloc Model RK1812/RK1814 Flowmeters with Photosensor utilize a highly reliable optical detection system. A photosensor is clamped to the outside of the glass tube; when the float passes the sensor’s infrared beam, it triggers a switch signal (Open/Closed). Because the sensor is located outside the fluid path, there is no risk of contamination, corrosion, or mechanical interference with the float.
The series is split into two primary configurations:
RK1812: Typically features a standard valve at the bottom for general pressure applications.
RK1814: Often utilized in configurations requiring more specialized control or vacuum compatibility.
These meters are essential for “unmanned” operations. While a technician can check the flow visually at any time, the photosensor acts as a 24/7 watchdog. If the flow drops below a critical threshold (e.g., cooling water for a laser) or exceeds a limit, the signal can be used to trigger an audible alarm, light an LED, or shut down a process automatically via a PLC.
