Gastec HS100 Hydrogen Sulphide Sensor

The Gastec HS100 Hydrogen Sulphide Sensor represents a sophisticated approach to electrochemical gas detection. By employing the controlled potential electrolysis method, the sensor maintains a specific electrochemical state that allows for the highly selective oxidation of $H_2S$ molecules. This process generates a current flow directly proportional to the gas concentration, ensuring linear and predictable data output for your monitoring systems.

One of the standout advantages of the HS-100 series is its structural integrity and precision-engineered circuit board integration. The HSS-1050HL variant is optimized for long-term stability, reducing the frequency of calibration and maintenance. Whether used as a replacement part or integrated into a new OEM system, this sensor provides the reliability that engineers and safety officers require to protect personnel and infrastructure from the hazards of Hydrogen Sulphide.

Features

  • Utilizes high-precision controlled potential electrolysis technology.
  • Highly selective detection of Hydrogen Sulphide ($H_2S$) with minimal cross-sensitivity.
  • Compact and lightweight design (95g) for flexible installation.
  • Integrated PCB design for stable signal processing and easy electrical connection.
  • Durable housing designed to withstand industrial atmospheres.

Maintenance and Replacement

The HS-100 is a “consumable” analytical part. Over time, the internal electrolyte can be depleted or the gas-permeable membrane can become clogged by environmental dust or oils.

Technical Tip: If your HSS-1050HL analyzer is providing sluggish readings or can no longer be calibrated to the span gas, the HS-100 sensor is likely reaching its end-of-life. After installing a new HS-100, always allow at least 12 to 24 hours for the sensor to stabilize (electrically polarize) before performing the final calibration.

Applications

The Gastec HS100 Hydrogen Sulphide Sensor is ideally suited for various industrial and safety applications, including:

  • Petrochemical and refinery gas monitoring systems.
  • Wastewater treatment and sewage infrastructure safety.
  • Mining and tunneling atmospheric control.
  • Pulp and paper manufacturing process safety.
  • Biogas production and storage facility monitoring.
