Gastec DTP-1-20 Rubber Caps

A pack of 20 high-grade rubber caps designed to fit securely over the ends of Gastec gas detector tubes. They prevent the chemical reagent inside from reacting with ambient air when the tube is not actively being used in a sampling pump.

Description

The DTP-1-20 caps are made from a specialized synthetic rubber that is chemically inert to most reagents found in Gastec tubes. When a detector tube tip is broken, the reagent is exposed to the atmosphere. Placing a DTP cap on both ends creates a mechanical seal that significantly slows down the “drifting” of the color stain, allowing for a more accurate post-test analysis if the reading cannot be taken immediately.

Although, technology is always evolving, one demand on our products never changes: the demand for customer safety. Whenever we contribute to customer safety, we are presented with an opportunity to develop further.

GASTEC holds this corporate creed of safety and development in high esteem, as it strives to grow while always putting customer safety first.

Features

  • Airtight Seal: Precision-molded to match the outer diameter of standard Gastec glass tubes, ensuring a leak-proof fit.
  • Chemical Resistance: Resistant to a wide array of industrial gases and the acidic/basic reagents used in colorimetric tubes.
  • Bulk Packaging: Sold in packs of 20 (DTP-1-20), providing an ample supply for field kits and high-volume testing labs.
  • Prevents Contamination: Protects the internal reagent from humidity and cross-contamination from other gases in the storage environment.
  • Reusable: Can be cleaned and reused multiple times, provided they maintain their elasticity and are free of punctures.
