Description
Gastec 251S-20 Activated Carbon Tube reliable results in air quality monitoring depend on the quality of the adsorbent media. The Gastec 251S-20 Activated Carbon Tube utilizes premium-grade activated charcoal to strip non-polar contaminants from the air through physical adsorption. When air is drawn through the tube by a calibrated sampling pump, target molecules are trapped within the carbon’s microscopic pores, allowing for stable transport and precise quantification via Gas Chromatography (GC).
The critical advantage of this model lies in its dual-layer safety design. The primary layer contains 100mg of activated carbon to capture the bulk of the contaminant, while a secondary 50mg layer serves as a breakthrough indicator. By analyzing these layers separately at the lab, industrial hygienists can confirm whether the primary layer reached its capacity, ensuring the scientific validity of the sampling event. With a compact 4.0 x 70mm glass construction, the Gastec 251S-20 Activated Carbon Tube is compatible with standard industrial manifold systems and tube holders.
