Gast 1UP-NRV-10 Air Motor

A reversible, 0.45 HP (0.33 kW) rotary vane air motor featuring a 4-vane design and a NEMA 42C flange mount. It is an intrinsically safe, high-speed power source optimized for small-scale industrial equipment and laboratory instruments.

Description

The 1UP-NRV-10 is engineered for high-RPM tasks in tight quarters. Despite its small size, it maintains the rugged cast-iron construction Gast is known for. Because it is powered entirely by compressed air, it is ATEX and CE certified for hazardous locations (Group II, Cat 2), where electrical motors would pose a spark risk.

A key advantage of the 1UP series is its thermal profile. As the compressed air expands through the motor, it absorbs heat, allowing the motor to remain cool to the touch even in ambient temperatures up to 121°C (250°F).

Features

  • NEMA 42C Mounting: Features a compact C-face flange and a 3/8″ (0.375 in) keyed shaft, allowing it to bolt directly to small-frame gear reducers.
  • 4-Vane Configuration: Optimized for high-speed performance and efficient air consumption, reaching up to 6,000 RPM.
  • Variable Speed & Torque: RPM can be precisely controlled from 500 to 6,000 RPM by adjusting the air pressure or flow volume.
  • Explosion Proof: Non-electrical design is safe for chemical processing, laboratories, and environments with flammable vapors.
  • Instantly Reversible: A 4-way control valve allows the motor to switch rotation directions instantly, even while running under load.
  • Stall-Safe: Can be stalled indefinitely without damage, making it ideal for tensioning or “dead-end” torque applications.
