Gast 1AM-NRV-63A Air Motor

A reversible, 0.33 HP (0.25 kW) rotary vane air motor featuring a 4-vane design and a NEMA 42C flange mount. It is an intrinsically safe, cool-running power source optimized for precision mixing and small-scale automated machinery.

Description

The 1AM-NRV-63A utilizes a 4-vane configuration, which provides a balance of high-speed performance and efficient air consumption. Because it operates entirely on compressed air, it is inherently ATEX and CE certified for hazardous locations (Group II, Cat 2), making it safe for environments where electrical sparks could cause explosions.

A standout feature is its thermal resilience. As compressed air expands through the motor, it absorbs heat, allowing the unit to run cool even in ambient temperatures up to 121°C (250°F). This makes it a superior alternative to small electric motors in high-heat industrial zones.

Features

  • NEMA 42C Mounting: Features a compact C-face flange and a 3/8″ (0.375 in) keyed shaft for direct compatibility with small-frame gear reducers.
  • 4-Vane Configuration: Optimized for high-speed performance (up to 10,000 RPM) and reliable start-ups.
  • Variable Speed & Torque: Speed can be precisely controlled from 500 to 10,000 RPM by adjusting the air pressure or flow volume.
  • Explosion Proof: Non-electrical design is safe for refineries, chemical plants, and laboratories.
  • Instantly Reversible: A 4-way valve allows the motor to switch rotation directions instantly, even while running under full load.
  • Stall-Safe: Can be stalled indefinitely without damage, overheating, or the risk of electrical burnout.
