Gast 1AM-NRV-60-GR11 Gear Motor

A reversible, 0.33 HP (0.25 kW) rotary vane gear motor featuring a 4-vane design and a 15:1 gear reduction. It provides a maximum output speed of 350 RPM and is an intrinsically safe choice for hazardous or high-temperature environments.

Description

The 1AM-NRV-60-GR11 is a “workhorse” for precision mixing and small-scale automation. Because it is powered entirely by compressed air, it is ATEX and CE certified for use in explosive atmospheres (Group II, Cat 2), where electric motors would pose a spark risk.

The motor features a Face Mount and a 1/2″ keyed shaft, making it easy to integrate into specialized machinery. Its cool-running design allows it to operate in ambient temperatures up to 121°C (250°F), which is ideal for chemical processing or paint kitchens.

Features

  • 15:1 Gear Reduction: Converts high-speed internal rotation into a stable, high-torque output with a maximum no-load speed of 350 RPM.
  • Compact and Lightweight: Weighing only 3.5 lbs (1.6 kg), it offers one of the highest power-to-weight ratios in its class.
  • Variable Speed: The output speed can be precisely adjusted from 50 to 350 RPM by simply regulating the air pressure or flow volume.
  • Instantly Reversible: A 4-way control valve allows the motor to switch rotation directions instantly, even under full load.
  • Explosion Proof: Non-electrical operation is safe for refineries, chemical plants, and areas with flammable vapors.
  • Stall-Safe: Can be stalled indefinitely without damage, providing built-in protection against mechanical jams.
