Fluidwell F115 Safe Area Bi-directional Flow rate Indicator

The Fluidwell F115 Safe Area Bi-directional Flow rate Indicator is an advanced monitoring solution specifically developed for applications where determining flow direction is critical. By processing two pulse signals that are 90° or 270° out of phase, this unit accurately identifies reverse flow, displaying negative values and adjusting totalizers accordingly.

Description

Precision Monitoring for Complex Flow Directions

The Fluidwell F115 Safe Area Bi-directional Flow rate Indicator addresses the technical challenges of reverse flow in industrial piping systems. Unlike standard indicators, the F115 utilizes a quadrature input to detect the direction of movement. When a reverse flow occurs, the flow rate is shown as a negative value, and the totalizers count down to reflect the actual net volume processed.

Built for Extreme Industrial Conditions

Beyond its intelligent signal processing, the F115 is encased in an incredibly durable housing available in Aluminum or Stainless Steel 316L. The enclosure is so rugged that a truck can stand on it without compromising the internal electronics. With IP65, IP67, and NEMA Type 4X ratings, this indicator is fully protected against heavy rain, snow, salty atmospheres, and desert dust.

Seamless Integration and Operation

This unit follows the familiar “Know one, know them all” configuration structure used across the Fluidwell F-Series, which significantly reduces setup time and minimizes human error during commissioning. The display is designed for maximum clarity, featuring large digits for the main flow parameters and a bright LED backlight for low-light environments. Data integrity is also prioritized through an auto-backup feature that saves all settings and running totals in non-volatile EEPROM memory.

Applications

  • Bi-directional flow measurement applications can be found by loading and unloading of ships where one bi-directional flowmeter is used.
  • Another application is the correction for back-flow due to shocks in a pipeline caused by piston pumps or valve behavior.
  • The F-Series is your first and best choice for field mount indicators in safe and hazardous area applications. Especially in harsh weather conditions like rain, snow, sandy deserts, salty atmospheres and temperatures between -40°C up to +80°C (-40°F up to 176°F).
