Firerol FTA3100S Series

Firetrol Variable Speed Electric Fire Pump Controllers provide a variable frequency drive (VFD) to control the speed of a centrifugal pump to limit system pressure in a fire sprinkler system.

Description

Firetrol Variable Speed Electric Fire Pump Controllers provide a variable frequency drive (VFD) to control the speed of a centrifugal pump to limit system pressure in a fire sprinkler system. The Firetrol FTA3100S Series stands at the forefront of fire pump control technology. In many fire protection scenarios, a constant-speed pump can create excessive pressure during low-flow conditions, leading to mechanical stress on the entire network. The FTA3100S Series solves this by acting as an intelligent governor. By sensing discharge pressure and adjusting the motor’s frequency through the VFD, the controller ensures that the system pressure never exceeds the calibrated set point.

Firetrol

Firetrol, was founded in the early 1970’s and incorporated in Erie, Pennsylvania by an entrepreneur who saw an opportunity in a unique marketplace; the fire pump control industry. The business grew steadily between 1971 and 1980 as the company developed the first fire pump controller with molded case circuit breakers which drastically reduced their size, the first manual wound rotor controller for the New York City high-rise marketplace, the first medium voltage controller, and the first UL Listed controller with an automatic power transfer switch.

Specifications

Main Fire Pump Controller
