Allen Bradley 1756-BA2 Lithium Battery

The Allen-Bradley 1756-BA2 3-Volt Lithium PLC Battery is a replacement lithium battery manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation.

Description

The Allen-Bradley 1756-BA2 3-Volt Lithium PLC Battery is a replacement lithium battery manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It is used in Allen-Bradley 1756-L6x devices, specifically devices in Series B and in the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 5561, 5562, 5563, and 5564 Series B drives as well as in industrial computers and logic controllers which are programmable.

This PLC (Premature Capacity Loss) Lithium battery is composed of only 1 lithium cell. It has a stable voltage as well as a broad ambient operating temperature range. The low self-discharge rate of the Allen-Bradley 1756-BA2 3-Volt Lithium PLC Battery gives this cell a shelf life of about 10 years.

The nominal capacity of the Allen-Bradley 1756-BA2 Lithium PLC Battery is 1200 mAh (milliamp Hour). This means that starting from a fully charged state, 1200 mAh of electricity can be withdrawn from the battery at a particular constant current. The voltage of this cell is 3.0 Volts, which expresses the strength of the battery itself. The cell has dimensions of .68 inches x 1.38 inches.

The Allen-Bradley 1756-BA2 3-Volt Lithium PLC Battery has an excellent battery life. For example, when operating at a temperature of 41 to 45 degrees Celsius and a power cycle of 3 cycles per day, the cell works for 12 weeks if it is used for a 1MB project (the BAT status indicator turns red to indicate a low battery). It will last for 26 weeks if it completes 16 MB projects with a power cycle of 1 cycle per month and operating temperatures of 0 to 21 degrees Celsius. The Allen-Bradley 1756-BA2 3-Volt Lithium PLC Battery is an ideal battery for industrial computers and logic controllers because of its specific advantages. These include its high performance level, its ease to use in most environments, and its ability to perform standard and safety controls in the same chassis for a truly integrated system.

The Rockwell Automation Lithium Battery Assembly, catalog no. 1756-BA2, is exempted from dangerous goods regulations as the following requirements are met:

  • US DOT 49CFR, 173.185
  • Dangerous Goods Regulation, per IATA, Packing Instructions 968, Section II
  • Special Provisions ADR 188, IMDG 188

The Battery Assembly contains one (1) Duracell lithium battery cell, part number DL123A. Duracell’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for this Lithium Battery Cell follows.
