EGE Elektronik Sensor Amplifiers for Ex Productseries SZAb 400 EX-GR

The EGE Elektronik SZAb 400 EX-GR is the authoritative choice for integrating hazardous-area sensors into low-voltage DC control systems.

Description

The EGE Elektronik SZAb 400 EX-GR is the authoritative choice for integrating hazardous-area sensors into low-voltage DC control systems. In volatile environments where flammable gases or dust are present, sensors require an external safety link to prevent ignition. The SZAb 400 EX-GR serves as this link, employing Intrinsic Safety to limit the electrical energy entering the hazardous zone. The “GR” designation identifies this unit as the 24V DC powered version of the SZAb 400 series. This makes it ideal for modern facilities that prioritize DC power for increased safety and compatibility with standardized PLC power supplies. The unit is installed in a safe area (non-hazardous) on a standard 35mm DIN-rail, where it processes signals from EGE flow or level probes situated in the field.

Features

  • Potential-Free Relay Output: Features a robust change-over (SPDT) contact for universal signaling to PLCs or safety systems.

  • Built-in Line Monitoring: Automatically detects and reports sensor cable interruptions or short circuits.

  • Adjustable Switch-off Delay: Prevents “relay chatter” by allowing a 0…25 second delay before the output changes state.

Applications

  • Chemical Batching: Safe flow monitoring of alcohols, solvents, and fuels in 24V DC powered skids.

  • Pharmaceutical Production: Level control for tanks containing explosive vapors in Zone 0 environments.

  • Hydrogen Refueling: Monitoring gas flow and pressure safety in specialized H2 delivery systems.
