EGE Elektronik Sensor for Explosive Productseries ST 111 K-L110

EGE Elektronik Sensor for Explosive Productseries ST 111 K-L110 is the authoritative choice for facilities that operate in “permanently hazardous” areas.

Description

EGE Elektronik Sensor for Explosive Productseries ST 111 K-L110 is the authoritative choice for facilities that operate in “permanently hazardous” areas. While many Ex-rated sensors are limited to Zone 1, the ST 111 series is certified for Zone 0 (Gas) and Zone 20 (Dust). This allows the sensor to be safely installed directly inside tanks, reactors, or main pipes where an explosive atmosphere is expected to be present continuously or for long periods. The “L110” designation refers to the 110mm sensor length, providing an extra 30mm over the standard extended probe. This additional reach is critical for penetrating thick thermal insulation jackets or ensuring the sensing tip sits in the center of the flow profile in large-bore industrial piping. Operating on the thermodynamic principle, the sensor utilizes a solid-state probe to monitor flow velocity. This technology is essential for Zone 0 safety as it contains no moving parts. Traditional mechanical flow switches (paddles or turbines) can create friction-induced heat or static electricity—both significant ignition hazards. The ST 111 K-L110 eliminates these risks entirely.
