Gastec H2S-50EE Hydrogen Sulphide Sensor

A miniature controlled potential electrolysis $H_2S$ sensor designed for continuous, high-sensitivity monitoring. It is a compact, 25g component optimized for integration into the HS-5C and similar gas detection platforms.

Description

Controlled potential electrolysis sensor

The H2S-50EE operates on an electrochemical oxidation principle. When Hydrogen Sulphide gas enters the sensor, it reacts at a working electrode within an electrolyte solution, generating an electrical current. Because this current is directly proportional to the concentration of the gas, it allows for precise, real-time measurements.

The sensor is housed in a compact, square-style casing (30 x 30 x 26 mm) designed for long-term stability and reliability in industrial settings like wastewater treatment plants and refineries.

Although, technology is always evolving, one demand on our products never changes: the demand for customer safety. Whenever we contribute to customer safety, we are presented with an opportunity to develop further.

GASTEC holds this corporate creed of safety and development in high esteem, as it strives to grow while always putting customer safety first.

Features

  • Controlled Potential Electrolysis: This advanced electrochemical method provides superior sensitivity and a stable baseline, allowing it to detect even faint traces of $H_2S$.
  • High Selectivity: Specifically designed to target Hydrogen Sulphide while minimizing interference from other common industrial gases, ensuring fewer false alarms.
  • Linear Response: Offers a highly predictable electrical output across its entire measurement range, which simplifies calibration and data logging.
  • Rapid Response: Features a fast $T_{90}$ time, providing near-instantaneous alerts which are critical for life-safety in toxic gas environments.
  • Low Power Consumption: Its efficient design makes it suitable for both fixed-point monitors and battery-assisted portable units.
