Gastec CO-503E Carbon Monoxide Sensor

TheĀ  Gastec CO-503E Carbon Monoxide Sensor represents a sophisticated solution for technical teams requiring dependable toxic gas monitoring. At its core, the sensor employs the controlled potential electrolysis method. This sensing technology maintains a specific electrochemical potential at the working electrode, allowing for the highly selective oxidation of Carbon Monoxide molecules, which results in a stable electrical output directly proportional to gas concentration.

What sets the CM-525LB variant apart is its integrated industrial housing, which includes specialized sampling inlets and a robust pre-wired connector assembly. This architecture minimizes signal noise and simplifies the integration process for system engineers. Whether utilized in environmental control or process safety, this sensor provides the long-term performance integrity necessary to protect personnel and infrastructure from the hazards of Carbon Monoxide exposure.

Maintenance and Replacement

The CO-503E is a consumable component. Over time, the internal electrolyte is depleted or the sensing electrodes lose their catalytic activity.

Technical Note: If your CM-525LB monitor shows a “Sensor Fail” message or if the reading remains static when exposed to test gas, the CO-503E likely needs replacement. After installing a new sensor, it is critical to allow the unit to polarize (warm up) for at least 12 to 24 hours before performing a final span calibration.

Applications

The Carbon monoxide sensorCO-503E is specifically optimized for use in the following technical sectors:

  • Atmospheric monitoring in petrochemical refineries and chemical plants.
  • Safety systems for industrial boiler rooms and thermal power facilities.
  • Confined space monitoring and underground tunnel ventilation control.
  • Environmental checking in large-scale manufacturing and processing plants.
  • Integration into stationary toxic gas transmitters for workplace safety.
