Gastec GOA-7H-S Oxygen detector

An ultra-compact, intrinsically safe oxygen detector weighing only 110g. It can be clipped to a pocket or belt for continuous personal protection, or the sensor can be detached and lowered into a confined space using its 5-meter cord to check oxygen levels before a worker enters.

Description

The GOA-7H-S utilizes a Galvanic Cell sensor (Model O2-204G). This sensor reacts chemically with oxygen to produce an electrical current. Because it is a “diffusion” style sensor, it monitors the air naturally passing over the sensor face. The device is optimized for extreme battery efficiency, running for approximately 4,000 hours (nearly 6 months of 24/7 use) on a single AAA alkaline battery.

GASTEC

Although, technology is always evolving, one demand on our products never changes: the demand for customer safety. Whenever we contribute to customer safety, we are presented with an opportunity to develop further.

GASTEC holds this corporate creed of safety and development in high esteem, as it strives to grow while always putting customer safety first.

Features

  • Dual-Use Design: Features a detachable sensor head. You can wear the unit on your body for real-time alerts or use the included 5-meter cord for telemetry/remote measurement.
  • One-Touch Calibration: Can be instantly “zeroed” (calibrated to the standard 20.9% atmospheric oxygen) with a single button press in fresh air.
  • Quadruple Alarm System: Notifies the user of danger through a loud buzzer (95 dB), flashing red LEDs, LCD backlight activation, and vibration.
  • Intrinsically Safe: Certified for use in Zone 0, 1, or 2 (Ex ia IIC T3 Ga), making it safe for explosive gas environments.
  • Rugged & Weatherproof: Rated to IP64 equivalent, meaning it is dust-tight and resistant to water splashes from any direction.
  • High-Range Display: While calibrated for safety (0–25%), it has an “extended range” that can show up to 42.0% oxygen concentration.

Applications

  • Personal Safety (Wearable): Continuous monitoring for utility workers, plumbers, or HVAC technicians working in low-airflow areas.
  • Pre-Entry Checks: Using the 5-meter cord to test oxygen levels at the bottom of a manhole or inside a storage tank before descent.
  • Construction & Civil Engineering: Monitoring for oxygen displacement by heavy gases (like $CO_2$) in pits and trenches.
  • Agricultural Silos: Checking for anoxia caused by organic decomposition in grain storage.
  • Laboratories: Monitoring for oxygen depletion near liquid nitrogen or argon storage tanks.
