Description
Technoton MasterCAN J1939 i/o Module serves as a critical node in the Internet of Things (IIoT) and vehicle telematics ecosystem. It eliminates the compatibility barriers often found in mixed-fleet environments by acting as a universal translator between different signal types.
Dual-Mode Operation: The device operates simultaneously in two distinct modes to maximize system flexibility. First, it digitizes inputs by converting analog signals—such as voltage, frequency, or resistance—into standard Digital Data (PGN) for the CAN J1939 network. This allows analog sensor data to be read by digital trackers and displays.
Conversely, the module can take digital data (SPN) from the automotive CANbus and convert it into various analog signal types. This function is vital for driving analog indicators on dashboards or controlling analog actuators based on digital logic from the vehicle’s computer.
Automation and Control: Beyond simple conversion, the MasterCAN DAC enables the automation of analog devices. It can control relays, signal lamps, and sound devices based on specific CAN messages received from telematics units or sensors. This intelligent processing capability allows for sophisticated control logic without the need for complex rewiring.
