Fatek – FBs-14MC PLC Advanced Main Unit is engineered to deliver robust performance in a compact footprint. It utilizes Fatek’s renowned System on Chip (SoC) technology, which integrates the CPU, Hardware Logic Solver (HLS), and communication interfaces into a single silicon chip. This architecture minimizes component count, resulting in a controller that is faster, more reliable, and highly resistant to industrial electrical noise.
Advanced Control Capabilities While small in size, the FBs-14MC is powerful in function. The inclusion of a Real-Time Clock (RTC) allows for time-based automation, such as scheduling daily machine start-ups, managing lighting systems, or logging data with precise time stamps. Additionally, the unit supports high-speed counter inputs, enabling it to interface with encoders for positioning tasks or flow metering applications.
Simplified Maintenance One of the standout features of the MC series is the user-friendly design. Unlike economy units with fixed wiring, the FBs-14MC utilizes 7.62mm detachable terminal blocks. This allows maintenance technicians to replace a unit by simply unplugging the terminal block without having to unscrew and re-wire every connection, significantly reducing downtime during service intervals.
Scalability The unit features a standard RS-232 port (Port 0) for programming and HMI communication. Despite its small size, it is fully expandable. Engineers can add additional communication ports (RS-485, Ethernet) or analog I/O modules via the right-side expansion bus, allowing the system to adapt to changing project requirements.
